Mechanical Issue Halts Victory Project 156 Less Than 2 Miles From Pikes Peak Finish Line

The prototype machine built by Victory Motorcycles with Roland Sands Design quit running less than 2 miles from the finish line at Pikes Peak yesterday. The DNF brought to an unceremonious halt the much-hyped effort piloted by Cycle World's Don Canet. Interestingly, there appeared to be "radio...

Over the past few months I've had the pleasure of being cc'd on steady email correspondence between Victory Racing and Roland Sands Design. For those of you who haven't noticed, Polaris, the parent company of Victory and Indian motorcycles, has been on fire. Having pushed past tough competitors such as Honda and Yamaha, it dominates the North American market for off-road four-wheelers (from ATVs to UTVs and side-by-sides), contends...

Watching the motorcycle business of Polaris Industries evolve over the past few years has been compelling, and, as the corporation balances how Victory Motorcycles coexists with Indian Motorcycle, it's now well on its way to becoming fascinating. Polaris' re-launch of the Indian Motorcycle brand...

Another year and another Born Free down. This year marked the 10th annual Born Free show, a custom motorcycle event that started out as a chopper house party in Signal Hill, CA in 2008, that evolved into a block party, and then eventually one of, if not the biggest custom chopper and motorcycle...
